You’re probably looking to start Pilates because someone told you that it would be good for you. But what the heck is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise technique developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, originally called Contrology. Pilates is the complete coordination of the body and mind. With consistent practice you will develop strong, lengthened muscles, tighten your core, and improve your flexibility, posture and balance. It’s a great form of exercise for people of all ages and fitness levels.

HOW DO I START?

At Sunflower Studio there are several ways to practice Pilates. We offer Group Classes, Private Sessions, and Duet Sessions.

GROUP CLASSES:

If you’re interested in Group Classes you can either sign up for our Open Level classes or our Fundamentals of Pilates classes.

WHY SHOULD I PRACTICE PILATES?

Pilates can help improve posture, balance, coordination, and overall body awareness. It can also help build strength and flexibility in the muscles, improve joint mobility, and reduce stress and tension in the body. It is low-impact fitness method that often complements other forms of exercise and activity that you do in your everyday life. Pilates is especially good for people with low back pain and other chronic pains or who have muscle imbalances. In short, Pilates is good for EVERYONE!
